Minister of Trade Regulation No. 19 of 2026 on the Conduct of Trade Business Through Electronic Systems

Summary

Permendag 19/2026 governs trade conducted through electronic systems, covering e-commerce, marketplaces and social commerce. It addresses business actors and business models, business requirements, electronic advertising, prioritization of domestic products, supervision, and the use of artificial intelligence.

The regulation was issued on 4 June 2026, took effect on 8 June 2026, and revokes Permendag 31/2023. The point with the greatest impact on sellers: platforms must refuse domestic merchants that do not hold Business Licensing (at minimum an NIB, the business identification number), with a transition period for sellers already registered. Where a product requires SNI, halal or distribution permit numbers, these must be displayed. A PT PMA selling online should therefore have its NIB and product approvals in place before listing.
