Summary
Perpres 49/2021 amends Article 2, Article 6 and the annex of Perpres 10/2021 on Investment Business Sectors. The background to the amendment was the restriction of investment and the control of alcoholic beverages.
Following this amendment, all commercial business sectors are open to investment, except sectors declared closed or activities that only the central government may carry out. The alcoholic beverage manufacturing industry is among the sectors declared closed to investment. For foreign investors, the practical point is that the Perpres 10/2021 annex must always be read in its amended form when checking whether a KBLI (business classification code) is open and on what terms before a PT PMA is set up.
Key points for investors
- Always read Perpres 10/2021 together with this amendment.
- Relevant to investors in the alcoholic beverage sector.
- Amends the annex listing business sectors.
